Hi there!
The publicising of knowledge and events can be done in many different ways, it is also a complex art which often requires time and special skills. IK has for sometime started up new initiatives to complement our printed publications, digital resources and exhibitions. The goals have been to find a format that reaches out globally as well as being possible to be made in-house – without sacrificing quality, long-term thinking and attractiveness!
One of these new stepping stones is iEXPOSURE – Fascinating visual stories in Natural & Cultural History, presented in pictures and text from The IK Foundation’s creative world of interdisciplinary enterprises.
Others might have called this format a virtual exhibition, but instead we have chosen to briefly and simply call it iEXPOSURE where in-depth knowledge can be visualised and told along with texts, pictures and sound – published in a responsive design and readable virtually everywhere. There are many opportunities and it is our hope that this initiative and complementary free resource can be developed within our many works in both Natural & Cultural History.
Currently, three visual stories are planned, the first published is FARMERS' TEXTILE ART | Local Traditions – Global Influences, a fascinating story about female weavers in the southernmost Scandinavian countryside whose textiles continue to attract a lot of attention around the world.
In 2021, iEXPOSURE will continue with stories from the steppe of Kazakhstan and the fascinating world of aerial photographs at the service of the sciences... Further stepping stones will appear in the future, watch this space!
