Hi there!
Is a geographical journey through time possible? We know nothing about it, although much is being written nowadays amid the hype surrounding the development of quantum computers. But the truth is that we have been able to time travel for a long time through physical experiences such as smells, temperature and discovering new environments via visual impressions. An exemplary opportunity in this regard is the visit to an Open-Air Museum. This concept serves an educational and conservation purpose, showcasing and preserving historical cultures' architecture, interiors, and artefacts across a designated area, including tools and, in certain instances, entire landscapes.
In a brand new visual story within The IK Foundation iExposure series, we invite you to take part in an experiential walk through one of the many unique Open-Air Museums in the Nordic region – Frilandsmuseet, located just north of Denmark's capital, København. In a varied and expansive landscape, you can stroll for hours and experience houses and folklore from centuries connected to the country's many different landscapes.
”AN OPEN-AIR MUSEUM – The Nordic Way” is part of a growing collection of fascinating visual stories in Natural & Cultural History, presented in pictures and text from The IK Foundation’s creative world of interdisciplinary enterprises.

OTHER UPDATES
As previously announced this year in iMESSENGER No: 5:2024, the publication of the monograph “Naturae Observatio SPITSBERGEN – Science Expeditions” is delayed, something that IK profoundly regrets. It is a complicated project where we have set extraordinary quality standards – it is more than just a book. It is a unique mastery portfolio that inspires generations to appreciate a delicate and still wild part of our Planet Earth. The book is now set to be published by May 2025. All interested parties who secured a copy via pre-orders will receive a letter in the mail with additional information and updates on this project – one that also serves as an essential Arctic journey through time between the past and present!
