CONTENT: | The ship’s priest Christopher Tärnström was probably describing this exact location, when the Swedish East India ship Calmar dropped anchor in Poli Condor harbour [Côn Sơn Island] on 13th October in 1746. Already two months later he died on this small island, but his burial place is unknown today. The sheltered position of the harbour can clearly be seen in this photograph (2005). |
