Kalm described the plant Kalmia latifolia or the spoon tree/American dwarf laurel at several occasions from Pennsylvania and New York as one of the American evergreens. The plant is native to the eastern USA; here photographed at the U.S. Botanic Garden, Washington (“National Garden” outdoors) in late June. |
