| CONTENT: | John Bartram was to become one of Kalm’s most important contacts during his stays in Pennsylvania. Bartram’s work, botanical knowledge, garden, etc were mentioned on about 40 occasions in his journal. For example, on this page Kalm is introducing the botanist and his importance, not only for the Philadelphia area but also from a wider perspective. This image from Bartram’s House gives an impression of his work as a collector and trader in botanical specimens. A house visited by Kalm many times in the years 1748-1751. |
